Because you're a human, and sometimes you don't feel like working in front of a computer, the notebook conglomerate Moleskine and the reigning design super-company Adobe have collaborated to create a Smart Notebook that is actually connected to the Adobe Creative Cloud through an app. The app is able to capture the drawings and opens the designs easily into Adobe applications like Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign. The idea behind the Smart Notebook is to make the creative process seamless from start to finish.

So the objective of the Moleskine Smart Notebook is to turn hand-drawn designs into "vector files" that can be edited on Adobe software. "Can you just draw in any notebook and use the app to transfer it?" is something you are probably asking. The answer is-- well-- yes, but this Smart Notebook comes with special page markings that are supposed to optimize the transferring of images into a JPG, and eventually, SVG, file.

This will be super useful for when you're on the subway and an idea strikes, or out at an event where there's no computer in sight. It will even allow you to send a colleague your sketch work, and have them working on the edits before you even get to the office. The Vice President of Moleskine's Brand Equity and Communication department, Maria Sebregondi, said in a press release:

"We don’t see a conflict between digital and analog tools. With our fans actively posting their Moleskine creations online, for us the digital realm is another open platform for creativity and self-expression. Rather than make our fans choose between analog and digital, they should be able to navigate both seamlessly."

The Moleskine Smart Notebook is listed as $32.95 online, and will start shipping on December 31st-- not in time for the holidays, but close enough. Watch this video on Moleskine's YouTube channel to find out more about the Smart Notebook.
